المنهج التاريخي النقدي في الفكر العربي المعاصر: كتاب "الدين والعلمانية في سياق تاريخي" لعزمي بشارة أنموذجًا

ملخص: نحاول في هذا البحث التوقف عند مفهوم المنهج التاريخي النقدي وضبط بعض خصائصه ونسعى إلى النظر في هذا المنهج في السياق العربي من خلال عدد من أعلامه على غرار علي عبد الرازق مع التركيز على تحديد بعض مقومات هذا المنهج وتجلياته من خلال كتاب الدين والعلمانية في سياق تاريخي للدكتور عزمي بشارة لعمق مقاربته وشمولها أثناء دراسته القضايا الخاصة بالعلمنة في السياق الأوروبي. إنّ ما يبرّر استخدام المنهج التاريخي لدراسة العلمنة لدى بشارة أنّه وقف على أنّ الاستناد إلى التاريخ لا غنى عنه لفهم كثير من الظّواهر والقضايا المتّصلة بالعلمنة.

Abstract: In this study, we aim to examine the concept of the historical-critical method and define some of its key characteristics. We also seek to explore how this method has been employed within the Arab intellectual context through the works of prominent figures such as ʿAlī ʿAbd al-Rāziq. Special focus will be placed on identifying the essential components and manifestations of this method as reflected in Dr. Azmi Bishara’s Religion and Secularism in a Historical Context, particularly given the depth and comprehensiveness of his approach to the question of secularization in the European context. What justifies the use of the historical method in Bishara’s study of secularization is his firm conviction that referring to history is indispensable for understanding many phenomena and issues related to secularism.
